This is a Vintage Multi-colored Zulu Tribal Beaded Necklace from South Africa. A typical Zulu bead work comprises seven colors which each have symbolic meanings. The main shape used in designing Zulu beads is also the triangle. The manner in which the triangle is placed determines the message to be communicated. Bead works are recognized by the fact that the motifs are treated in a very symmetrical way. The colors and designs of these necklaces are very symbolic and specific to the area in which they are made, so that can be understood by others in the village.
