This a really unique Figurative Hairpin from the Zaramo people of Tanzania.| Thehair pin is made out of wood and a nice brown brown patina. A Zaramo or Kwere husband gave his wife a hairpin either when the first daughter was born or when they moved into their own house. Afterwards the hairpins were worn as ornaments on festive occasions. This is a lovely item to compliment your home or collection.
