Philippines Ifugao Ceremonial Bowl

$52.50 $70.00

This Hand Carved beautiful Round Burnished Wood 3 Hole Ceremonial Bowl is created by the Ifugao people of Ifugao Province, Central Island of Luzon, Philippines. This bowl and others like it would have played an important part in everyday Ifugao life. Most ordinary folk ate their rice out of a common bowl, but men of high status among the Ifugao eat from carved wooden bowls. The bowls are usually round and carved out of a cross section of a tree trunk called Yemane (Gmelina) wood. This bowl would be a lovely addition to your home or collection
