This is a Unique Vintage Bamum Hunter's Hat with Twisted Fiber and Cowries Shells that would be Worn with the Hunter's Amulet Shirt by the Bamum Tribal Men of the Grasslands of Cameroon. These garments are worn for protection in the forest, from both wild animals and dangerous spirits. This would allow the successful hunter to have a complete outfit to and have the spiritual power necessary to negotiate the dangerous supernatural realm. This hat made of fiber has twisted rope to look like hair that is embellished with cowrie shells. Every hunter constructs his own shirt and hat that over the course of his life to reflect his skill controlling a powerful life force. This hat would compliment the hunters shirt or just be a unique hat to add to your collection or home.
