This is a One of a Kind Wood Face Mask from Barak or Boiken Tribe from Turubu Region of East Sepik Province, Papua New Guinea. This unique Wood mask has a narrow elongated form with a chin tapering to a point. It is extremely hollowed and constricted underneath the eye area with pierced eyes flanking a raised middle ridge. The elongated nose underneath has a bow-shaped projection, representing a spirit. Within the Lower Sepik area, it is generally accepted that long pointed noses represent spiritual beings while short naturalistic ones portray true ancestors. A One of Kind unique powerful spirit and ceremonial mask that would be a wonderful addition to your collection or your home.
