This is beautiful Stone Carved and Old Wood burnished Sago Food feasting Ceremonial bowl from the Upper Keram River of Papua New Guinea. These feasting and ceremonial bowls are used on special occasions to serve pudding known as “Pollom and Yams. Not only is this style bowl being used during ceremonial village feasts, but is is an essential part of the traditional bride price. This bowl has beautiful clam markings on the bottom. These bowl do not exist anymore. Collected in the field and shows age.This would be a fabulous piece for your table and to display in your home.
