This a wonderful and unique Old Bamileke Lizard Beaded Chief's Hat from Cameroon. These charming caps were made for and used by Bamileke chiefs, especially when in the presence of the king. Lighter and more practical than heavy wooden masks, they were nevertheless important ceremonial objects, embellished with elaborate bead work and bearing an animal crest. Most Bamileke art relates to kings and important chiefs, who defined their power by the display of prestige objects during important ceremonies. The motifs used include animals and human figures and heads and other subjects plus abstract designs. Glass beads embellish the most important royal objects. Most of these beaded objects formed a cap or headdress. A fabulous hat for your home or collection. A collectors item.

Returns are welcome after 3 days, please contact me upon arrival of package, and shipped within 7 days. They must be returned in the same condition that they were purchased in. Shipping is the responsibility of you the buyer. A full refund will be given when the arrives in the same condition as purchased.
