This is a wonderful old natural wood doll Marionette or Puppet Statue from the Niger and Bani rivers in the region of Segou of Mali. The arms are moveable and secured on the puppet with a nail and twine. These puppets were carve and made for children. Although large colorful marionettes were used to entertain the youth in the villages by putting on puppet shows . This Statue is rare and and one of a kind. A fabulous item for your home or collection.
