This is a wonderful old hand carved and incised Coconut Whistle is from the Abelam Tribal People of Papua New Guinea. The large center of this whistle is known as maira and was used to call out the secret voice of the Tambaran spirits, as well as used for hunting calls. A wonderful item to add to your home or collection.

I thought this was a very unique decorative object for a client office. I haven’t completed the project but I did put it in my own home in the meantime and might get one for myself 😂 seller didn’t have the exact one on the listing at the time but I ended up getting a much more decorative one that I am much more happy with.
