This is a really interesting Canoe Prow from the people along the May River in Papua New Guinea. A hand-carved wooden canoe prow with tribal design. In the past and today, the prows of large canoes in this culture are carved, often in with connections to the clan who carved the piece. When the boat has outlived its useful life, these prows are cut free and used as art objects. This highly desired piece would be a lovely addition to your home collection.
