This is a beautiful carved wood Ancestral figure from Kangingara Village, Black Water Lakes Region, Papua New Guinea. This particular figure brought protection to the clans that owned them, and they were kept in the Men’s Ceremonial Houses along with sacred musical instruments like pairs of flutes and slit gong drums that were used during the initiation of young men.
