This is a whimiscal Colorful Handmade Coconut Shell Mask known in Spanish as Mascaras de Coco made by Nahuatl artists who live in the Mezcala region along the Balsas River Basin in Guerrero State. This decorative mask is made of 1/2 shell of coconut and built up with clay and other seed pods or leaves. The mask once dried it is hand-painted with brightly colored paint. It is wonderful Folk At from Mexico and the mask comes in many fanciful expressive faces. A wonderful addition to your home or collection.
