This a an Old Masai beautifully decorated Milk Gourd from Kenya. These gourds were used to contain yogurt blend of milk and blood, which is a staple food of the Masai Herdsmen. A Masai woman would clean her milk gourds every night and sleep with them beside her bed. This gourd was treasured and necessary in everyday life. This is an old gourd in excellent condition with a beautiful patina, traditional leather strap,top, buttons and bead work. This is beautiful as home decor or given as a gift to a man or a woman, or add to your collection.
