This is a Wonderful Vintage Hand Carved Wood Bow from the Gogo People from the Dodoma Region of Tanzania. This traditional weapon of the Male Gogo Tribe members was used for hunting as well as protection against the herds that they maintained. The bows were a coming of age statues symbol for boys initiation into manhood. Each man would make is own Bow, and then pass it down to the son. The Gogo tribe is dominated by the male line. This traditional weapon would make a wonderful addition to your home and collection.
