This is a fabulous 30 Year Old Large Old Lumi Carved Wood Shield from the Lumi area, Torricelli Mountains, West Sepik Province. The designs on the front can be incised or protrude. Some of the features are kidney-shaped form often associated with these shields, which has been adorn with a raised abstract design made up of lines and spirals. Arm straps are found at the back of the shield. This is an amazing shield with rich dark coloring and designs. It has a handle on the back. This would be a wonderful addition to your collection.
