These are wonderful Ethiopian Silver Telsum Prayer Box Pendants. The pendants were usually made from recycled silver and melted down coins. Many pieces of traditional Ethiopian jewelry, such as these small "Telsum" pendants were worn as protective amulets. These triangular pendants were worn to guard against the evil eye, and the the crescent-shaped pendants were worn to guard against the crescent moon. Telsum pendants were skillfully handcrafted and and made with hoops for hanging on the traditional purple thread. These pendants would be wonderful in all your creative designs.
