Philippines Ifugao Burnished Wood Bowl

$28.00

This Hand Carved beautiful Round Burnished Wood Bowl created by the Ifugao people of Ifugao Province,Central Island of Luzon, Philippines. This bowl and others like it would have played an important part in everyday Ifugao life. Most ordinary folk ate their rice out of a common bowl or dished out into small, plain personal bowls, but men of high status among the Ifugao eat from carved wooden bowls. The bowls are usually round and carved out of a cross section of a tree trunk called Yemane (Gmelina) wood. A lovely item to adorn your home or add to your collection.
