This is a Wonderful Old Milk Container from the Borana People Who Belong to the Oromo Ethnic Group in Ethiopia. Each specific container made by the women has a purpose and use. This old container was used for milk. The materials used to make this container is mostly fibers and wood. The women use a coil technique from the base. Strands of fibers are bunched together and wrapped at regular intervals with either one or two other fibers. These milk jugs were a part of everyday life, used to carry and preserve milk from their cows. This milk jug would be a wonderful addition to your collection or home.
