The Miao and Dong people are well-known for their handmade Jewelry and exquisite workmanship. Silver content can vary dramatically from almost pure silver to none at all, with a typical alloy being made of a combo of copper, zinc, and nickel (sometimes called alpaca, German silver. The silver content and weight (and the current price of silver) can affect the price. From the Dong and Miao of Guizhou, these unusual earrings are a traditional design comprised of hollow, soldered components and wrapped with wire.
