This is a fabulous Naga Incised Bone and dyed Horse Hair Hairpin with dyed woven yarn wrapped around the top to secure the horse hair. These Hairpins are worn by Naga Men in a Hair Knot at the back of their head. These Hairpins are worn by the men of the Khiamniungan Tribe in Southern Nagaland. They are worn only by Naga Warriors and are very prestigious. This decorative Hairpin is unique in carving and etching and they are all skillfully created by the Naga Artisans. They are hard to find today and are sought after by collectors. This was collected in the field and shows some wear. A great addition to your personal collection.
