This an old great Carved Wood Spirit Tray from the Middle Sepik River Village of the Kaminabit in Papua New Guinea. Trays are generally used in ceremonial and ritual occasions and initiations. The images carved into are ancestor as well as spritual figures along with clan totems. This Tray has a Carved Face design and is painted in clan symbols. This is a wonderful decorative Tray and would be a wonderful addition to your home or collection.
