This is a beautiful old Weathered and Aged Indian Wood Cooking Pot or Serving Bowl from Nilambur Kerala which is in Southern India. This hardwood is a tropical hardwood. Timber cut from old hardwood trees was once believed to be more durable and harder than plantation grown teak. This is traditional old Indian wood cooking pot or bowl and was hand carved out of single piece of wood. This old wood bowl has a wonderful pouring spout. A bowl like this would be used for cooking, serving food or pouring liquid. These were prized pots in Indian households and the wood was strong and very functional, as well as serving many purposes.
