This is a very Expressive Painted Texture Wood Bobo Antelope Mask from Burkina Faso, Mali. The Bobo people live in a Savannah and depends solely on farming. Therefore, their artwork most depicts Savannah animals such as antelope, buffalo, snake and hawks. Masks are the predominant art form of the Bobo people. This Bobo mask depicts the antelope, and it represents growth and it is mostly worn to celebrate new crops.
