This is a wonderful Burnished and Blacked Bowl from the Giriama which is one of the largest groups of the Mijikenda people in the the Northeast coast of Kenya. They consider their forest trees to be sacred. This beautiful bowl is carved by the women using their traditional tools. These bowls are one of a kind and used for carrying food, milk or storage. This bowl would be a great addition to your collection or home.
Bowl shows age, has tribal repairs, but overall in good condition.
