The wonderful Mwana Ngulu pig mask from the Chokwe Tribe in the African Congo. The mask is made of wood and painted with brown and black kaolin, and Metal rings in the ear. The mane is made of strips of curled Orange fabric, and down the neck is a mesh cotton weaving that would cover the wearers neck. It represents a domesticated pig that performs tricks. These masks are used during magical dance rituals in which the dancer is on all fours. The Chokwe can be found in Angola and the DRC.
This wonderful mask would be an excellent addition to your home or personal collection.
