This is a wonderful carved wood Storyboard from the Kambot Tribe of Papua New Guinea. Storyboards are a tradition of the Kambot Tribe in the lower Sepik region. A storyboard is a carved wooden board which literally tells a story. Storyboard themes include village life, adventures and encounters with wild animals and spirits. Storyboards are displayed in Haus Tambarans (men's houses) as decorations. The storyboard is finished with a natural wax from the milk of the Kapiak Tree while the details are picked out by white lime and ochers. Storyboards are unique and one of a kind in a fascinating 3D design and they began in the 1960's as a replacement for bark boards and were to fragile to last. This story board has a woven handle for hanging, is unique and would make a wonderful wall decoration for your home or your office.
