This is a beautiful Ornate Carved Wood Staff from the Nomadic people of the Southern Sahara called the Tuareg. The Tuareg are a fiercely independent, nomadic people, and on the move with their herds and camels over vast areas of the southern Sahara, they produce no masks or figures. Instead, they create an impressive world of traditional, abstract, beautiful, functional objects of leather, wood and metal. This was collected in the field and shows age and has a nice patina. A wonderful item to have in your home or collection.
