Great grandma’s old ivory beads were a bit retro. Renovation was called for. But how? Finger shopping on Etsy, of course! How terrific it is to be able to shop worldwide without the expense of air tickets … Barbara’s World of Bacara always has interesting things … after all, she’s a world traveller like I used to be. She had so many delicious things, including the loveliest simple off white little bone beads from Indonesia. I grabbed a few strings (and the other blandishments), and set off again, eventually returning home to Oz: tiny little turquoise heishi from an enterprising woman down in Melbourne, and a handful of Tibetan Copal beads from CrystalBliss in Sydney - perfect size and shape, and saved me not only airfares, but international postage: shoppers Nirvana!
