This wonderful Papua New Guinea Triton Shell war horn or Fisherman's Horn is from the Schuten Islands and Wewak Coast. The horns served two purposes, the first was to communicate at night between fisherman out in there canoes, and the second was men heading off to war. These Triton shells served as a basic language used through sounds. This would be a wonderful addition to your home and collection.
