This is a beautiful African Kuba Backrest or Tip Stool from the Kuba People of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This backrest is often called "tip stool." Carved from a single piece of wood. This wood tip stool on a single peg leg, etched designs lines in geometric patterns. These backrests can also serve as a seat and were reserved for the exclusive use of Kuba dignitaries.
