This is a wonderful Bright Traditional Woven Basket the Zulu Tribe of South Africa. This centuries old tradition of weaving has survived time, modernization, changes in lifestyle and wars. Very skillful weavers continue weaving baskets for a range of uses, in the same way they used to for many hundreds of years. The shapes and colors vary, and the dyes are all made from natural agents: bark, leaves, roots and flowers. The baskets are woven from any of the following plants, Ncema grass and Ilala Palm. These baskets will be wonderful in your home or as a gift or to add to your collection.
