This is a Beautiful Brown Velvet Star Child Jacket from the Hmong Tribal People of Southeast Asia. These jackets were made out of black velvet and and had embroidered panels down the front as well as on on the back. These patterns included cross-stitch snail embroidery, as well as mountain motifs in appliqué. A boldly decorated jacket with bright appliqué’ star shapes and intricate cross-stitch embroidery, which is a unique example of the traditional costume making of the Hmong people.
